FANTOM™ Clones: Technical Information
□Vectors used during the RIKEN FANTOM Project
RIKEN has used different vectors and linkers during the FANTOM project. The Plate set name (e.g. PX) indicate, which vector had been used for a particular FANTOM™ clone. Please refer to the table given below to see which vector relates to which plate set. Click on the links under "Vector Map" in the table below to download the vector map as a PDF file or the vector sequence as a text file.

- *1st-primer: 1st-primer for cDNA construction.
- *2 2nd-primer: 2nd-primer for cDNA construction.
- *3 Riken used modified primers for the preparation of pooled cDNA libraries. The so-called "1st-BG tag" primers have an additional short tag sequence after the cloning site.
- *4 Clones in plates 635, 1008 and 1023 are provided on DH5a. All other clone of the PX set are on DH10B. Please search DNAFORM Clone Search Engine by clone ID to find Plate numbers.
□FANTOM™ clone Shipment and Storage Information
DNAFORM provides FANTOM™ clones in two formats:
For FANTOM™ clones ordered as "Plasmid DNA", DNAFORM ships 50ng purified plasmid DNA. The dried DNA is stable at room temperature. After dissolving the DNA in TE buffer or alike, the DNA solution should be stored at -20°C.
For FANTOM™ clones ordered as "Slant Culture", DNAFORM ships living bacteria on agar. Upon arrival, the culture should be stored at 4°C. Note a bacterial culture cannot be stored for an extended period of time. Therefore we advise you to plate the bacteria on a LB agar plate with the appropriate antibiotic as soon as possible and to grow a new culture. It is preferable to select some individual clones and to check their inserts before using the clone(s) for further studies.
All FANTOM™ clones can be maintained on LB plates containing Ampicillin. For further information refer to the datasheet provided with the clones.
